FEES & BILLING PRACTICES
FEES
Your initial meeting will be charged at the hourly rate of the attorney with whom you meet.
Rates range from $255 - $450 per hour. After that, we charge the applicable hourly rate for
each attorney or staff member handling your matter, and we record and bill our time in 1/10 of
an hour increments. We charge for all the time spent by us on your behalf, which includes telephone
calls and conferences, intra-office meetings regarding your matter, legal research, preparation of
documents, travel, and review of any records you provide us.
Please note that while we do charge for certain overhead costs, itemized later, we do not charge
for the following routine occurrences:
The overhead costs that we do charge for include, but are not limited to, the following:
BILLING PRACTICES
Itemized statements showing services performed, time spent, billing rates and costs
incurred are prepared as of the 25th of each month and are due upon receipt.
To avoid a rebilling fee, payment must be received within 30 days. If you have any
matters of concern, we encourage you to call before you pay the bill.
RETAINERS
Most client matters require a retainer. The retainer amount depends on the type of
project and anticipated costs. The retainer will be deposited into a client trust
account, and will be applied monthly to legal fees and expenses incurred on your behalf.
In most cases, we require that you maintain the initial retainer amount for the duration of our representation.
FIXED FEES
Because of the scope of work required with regard to forming California business entities,
we are able to offer a fixed fee for typical entity formations. Third-party costs, such
as government filing fees and taxes, are borne by the client and are billed separately.
