VALERIE S. HIGGINS

Valerie Higgins is an associate attorney at Casas Riley & Simonian, LLP. Valerie's practice focuses on employment litigation and counseling. She has successfully represented employers in court and administrative proceedings, defending against claims of wrongful termination, discrimination, harassment, wage and hour, and breach of contract. Valerie also represents clients in a variety of other areas including personal injury, real estate, and general business litigation.

 

Prior to joining Casas Riley & Simonian in 2008, Valerie worked with partner Greg Simonian at an established Bay Area civil defense firm where she was a member of the employment and general litigation teams.

 

Valerie is a graduate of Trinity University (B.A., Psychology) and University of Houston Law Center (J.D.). At University of Houston, she was a member of the moot court team and a recipient of the Lex Award for Academic Excellence in Legal Research and Writing. Valerie also attended Santa Clara University School of Law as a visiting student where she was the recipient of the Richard S. Rosenburg Prize for Excellence in Employment Discrimination Law and where she participated in the KGACLC clinic, advising local workers regarding employment rights.

 

Valerie is admitted to practice before all courts of the State of California and Texas, the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals, and the Federal District Court in the Northern District of California.
