Valerie Higgins

Attorney

As Senior Counsel at the firm, Valerie's practice focuses on employment litigation and counseling, including defending Bay Area and California employers in single plaintiff and representative actions. She has successfully represented employers in court and administrative proceedings, arbitrations, and mediations, defending against claims of wrongful termination, discrimination, harassment, wage and hour, and breach of contract. Valerie also represents clients in a variety of other areas, including personal injury, real estate, and general business litigation.

Valerie is a graduate of Trinity University (B.A., Psychology) and University of Houston Law Center (J.D.). At the University of Houston, she was a member of the moot court team and a recipient of the Lex Award for Academic Excellence in Legal Research and Writing. Valerie also attended Santa Clara University School of Law as a visiting student where she was the recipient of the Richard S. Rosenburg Prize for Excellence in Employment Discrimination Law and where she participated in the KGACLC clinic, advising local workers regarding their employment rights.

Valerie is admitted to practice before all courts of the State of California and Texas, the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals, and the Federal District Court in the Northern District of California.
